ORGANICS

Walk into a great stand of tall trees and listen. Feel the specialness about you and connect with the sacredness of the place. To me this is nothing short of holy. As we pass through the place trees call home we can take their energy with us and hopefully leave nothing ill behind. When Tree lives a long time, natural occurrences and nearby activities it has experienced and observed is forever imprinted on its physical form. When it ceases to live as an individual, its container reverts back to the collective for the betterment of the whole. It is a beautiful and simple cycle. The time it spent being Tree is forever its Story.

I’ve arranged ‘cast off’ tree bits collected while standing amongst the tall trees. I can’t help but feel that Tree community informed my placements and presented the ideas I fleshed out. What began as a casual play with bark took on a life of its own and became something felt deeply within.

I’m continuing my delving into this notion of honouring Tree by printing rings on various papers. Hopefully, you too can sense something of the sacred life Tree lives and how it’s imprinted in its forms.
